INVITATION TO THE INAUGURAL NATIONAL DIALOGUE ON PROCUREMENT AND SUPPLY CHAIN & SCM SPURS EXCELLENCE AWARDS, 30TH NOVEMBER– 2ND DECEMBER 2021, AT KENYA SCHOOL OF GOVERNMENT (KSG), NAIROBI

Kenya Institute of Supplies Management, most sincerely thanks you for taking the time, whether participating virtually or in-person, to grace our recently concluded launch of the KISM Towers and Commissioning of our Strategic Plan 2020-2024 that took place on 28th October 2021 at KISM Offices. This is in addition to the just concluded launch of the KISM Disciplinary Instruments that took place on 11th November 2021 at KICC. These successful events are a culmination of a catalyst campaign we are currently running to build publicity of the need for a Transformation Change in the Supply Chain sector.

For this reason, the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM) in partnership with the National Treasury (NT), Public Procurement and Regulatory Authority (PPRA) with the support of key stakeholders, intends to hold the inaugural National Dialogue on Supply Chain Transformation. This forum is designed to bring together key supply chain stakeholders, decision-makers, managers, and their partners from various value chains to start a catalyst conversation to transform how supply chains are managed. Themed “Transforming Supply Chain Management to Drive Economic Recovery and Social Impact”, the summit will expose participants to ideas, trends, strategies, tools, technologies that could be adopted to transform how organizations are strategically organized and positioned to transform the way they manage their processes and act in the various supply chains to create impact.

In recognition of the efforts being made by Supply Chain Practitioners across the country, KISM SPURS Supply Chain Management (SCM) Excellence Awards will be held co-currently with the dialogue and a Gala Dinner is organized for that purpose. The KISM SPURS SCM Excellence Awards Program is an initiative established to support the Institute’s strategic objective on Membership Welfare and Advocacy in addition to motivating practitioners to undertake highly impactful supply chain management practices across the country, regardless of the industry in mention.

During the SPURS Awards Gala Dinner, KISM Mentorship, Coaching & Internship Program (KMCIP) will be commissioned. The KMCIP will enable mentees get adequate guidance on the day-to-day requirements of the job market in terms of values, skills and resilience [VSR]; a perspective not commonly taught in normal ‘classrooms’ or ‘read’ from technical manuals. Such mentorship calls for experience sharing, mentorship and coaching by qualified professionals who enable mentees pick up ‘nuggets of wisdom’ that enable them accelerate their career growth and development.

All events are scheduled to take place from 29th November to 3rd December 2021 at Kenya School of Government, Lower Kabete, Nairobi. The summit will be graced by Hon. Ukur Yatani, Cabinet Secretary, The National Treasury and Planning in the company of key top government officials, high commissioners, ambassadors, state leaders, industry leaders among other invited guests.
